Editorial Minimally - Invasive Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting

چکیده
Coronary diseases/surgery; myocardial revascularization; surgical procedures minimally invasive. Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is the gold standard for the definitive treatment of coronary disease. With the advent of percutaneous transluminal angioplasty, cardiac surgery fell behind, especially for the treatment of oneand two-vessel coronary artery disease, which made surgeons leave their comfort zone and search for new surgical techniques in order to obtain, with smaller incisions, similar results to those of conventional surgery and better postoperative evolution, culminating in the so-called minimally-invasive surgery.

A simultaneous minimally invasive approach to treat a patient with coronary artery disease and metastatic lung cancer
Concurrent lung cancer and coronary artery disease requiring treatment with percutaneous coronary intervention or coronary artery bypass grafting is not rare. An individualized perioperative anticoagulation regimen and minimal surgical trauma will benefit the patient's postoperative recovery. We successfully treated a 68-year-old female patient with a lesion in the left anterior descending arte...

The revival of off-pump cardiac surgery and the exploration of less invasive techniques for coronary artery bypass grafting, have lead to an increasing technical difficulty, as compared to conventional surgery using cardiopulmonary bypass. The moving target vessel in off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery, as well as the increasingly limited space in minimally invasive cardiac surgery were not...
متن کاملRefractory Coronary Artery Spasm after Minimally Invasive Direct Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting
Postoperative coronary arterial spasm is a rare but potentially fatal complication. A 51-year-old male patient with a history of a reactive ergonovine stress test coronary angiogram developed refractory coronary artery spasm after undergoing minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass grafting of the left anterior descending coronary artery. The patient was successfully managed with rapid ...
متن کاملAdditional right-sided upper “Half-Mini-Thoracotomy” for aortocoronary bypass grafting during minimally invasive multivessel revascularization
BACKGROUND Although minimally invasive coronary artery bypass grafting (MICS-CABG) has been shown to result in excellent clinical outcomes overall adoption rates still remain low. Traditional strategies for minimally invasive multivessel revascularization - usually performed through single-thoracotomy - have to deal with restricted grafting possibilities and possible increased susceptibility of...

Introduction: Minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass grafting (MIDCAB) offers arterial revascularization of the left anterior descending coronary artery especially in lesions unsuitable for percutaneous coronary interventions. By avoidance of sternotomy and cardiopulmonary bypass its invasivity is less than that of conventional bypass surgery. Methods: A literature search of all publi...
